We had a great time in Colorado this year! My parents drove out to Deer Valley Ranch and spent the week there with us. Overall, everything went super well. The only downside was Josh really didn't want to sleep the first two nights so that made for a tired start of the trip. We finally got that all figured out and the rest of the trip was great!
Every year that we go to Colorado we do the same things. Because of that we have a lot of the same type of pictures year after year. Some of these pictures will look very similar to the ones from last year. Part of the draw of this vacation is the tradition. Kent and his family did the very same things that we do year after year. It is really special! The cabin owned by Kent's great aunt has been in the family since the early 1950's. My father in law started going to the ranch when he was about Josh's age.
I am going to have several posts from our trip because I ended up with over 500 pictures! I promise to not post them all!
The first group of pictures are from the Monday morning Wrangler's Breakfast. This happens at the ranch every Monday morning at 8 am. There are three ways that you can get there: hike, ride a horse or ride in the old cattle truck. We opted to ride in the truck but my parents hiked. The food they serve is also the same every year....very good! It consists of cereal, milk, juice, coffee cake, applesauce donuts (sooooo, soooo good), bacon, eggs and grits. It is a lot of fun to eat breakfast on tin plates while sitting on rocks in the valley surrounded by the majestic Colorado Rockies. Love it!
