My Dad was here recently for five days and the boys loved having him here. One of the things that he and Will did together was make a list of rules to live by. They wrote them out on yellow post it notes and put them on the wall in the kitchen. It was cute to watch them add to the list and refer back to the list on several occasions when behavior got a little questionable. I thought I would share the list.
* Always have a positive attitude.
* No lying.
* No spilling cereal at breakfast.
* Go to Ireland on your honeymoon. (This one probably didn't mean much to Will at five years old :)
* Always say, "please, thank you, and your welcome."
* Always tell the truth.
* Honor your Father and Mother.
* Always do your best in school.
* No fussing. (one of my favorites)
* Be respectful in Church.
* Think of others before yourself.
* Have a good, strong handshake.
* No whining!
* Obey your parents always!
* Don't forget to obey your parents always!
* Be nice to your little brother.
* Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you.
* No talking back to your parents or teachers.
* Make your bed.
* Eat your food, don't waste it.
* Don't fight with your cousins.
* Share your toys always!
* No hitting with your brother and other people.
* No burping in public. (this is a boy one :)
* Put up the lid in the bathroom. (another boy one :)
* No punching in the schnoz (this is what Will and my dad call nose)
* No H.M.Ds (otherwise know as human melt downs...this is a Grandpa Stan phrase)
* Be kind to animals.
* Don't watch too much TV
